True Energy has signed a new agreement with Jansson. The partnership enhances the opportunities for Danish consumers to optimize the use of electric vehicles in the green transition.
Hørsholm, North Zealand, Denmark – June 18th, 2021 – True Energy, a Landis+Gyr company, has signed a new partnership agreement with Jansson, one of Denmark’s leading electricity, security, and communication services providers. The agreement increases the options and possibilities for electric vehicle (EV) owners to make the most of their vehicles.
Via the new cooperation agreement, True Energy’s solutions, that enable automated, intelligent charging when electricity is most cost-efficient and climate-friendly, will be offered to EV owners in connection with relevant electric installations carried out by Jansson.
True Energy’s solutions for EVs also include automatic stopping and restarting of charging intervals for short periods when needed. Thereby, electric vehicles help to balance the electric grid. The so-called cable discount scheme is provided in partnership with utility companies. Through the scheme, EV owners have the option of earning money for providing a buffer to the energy grid through their vehicles. In return, this enables – among other things- a smoother integration of additional energy from renewable sources.
Charlotte Blou Sand, Founder and CEO of True Energy, says:
“Jansson is a great match with True Energy. We share the same mindset and focus on the green transition as well as the role that technologies like electric vehicles play in making the transition a success. The agreement with Jansson is excellent news for anyone who wants to support the transition to more renewable energy through their electric vehicles.”
Mads Dane Lomholt, Section Leader at Jansson El, says:
“Towards 2025 and beyond, Jansson El wants to contribute to reducing CO2 emissions and focus even more on the green transition. By collaborating with True Energy, we want to make charging stations for electric cars much more accessible, easy and environmentally friendly for the end-user through hybrid solutions and easy software. The collaboration with True Energy is near and dear to us, as we share the same values. We look forward to the partnership and have high expectations.”
Electric Vehicles Minimize Disruptions
Denmark and neighboring Scandinavian countries have set ambitious goals for electric vehicles in order to fulfill their CO2 reduction commitments. Denmark targets more than one million electric vehicles before the end of the decade. The adoption of electric vehicles and increasing electrification of society puts pressure on the existing energy grid infrastructure. For example, charging EVs during peak times may impact the stability and availability of the grid.
To avoid expensive construction and infrastructure development projects, new approaches to electricity use and leveraging EVs ‘balancing power’ are gaining traction in the market.
Via True Energy, charging electric vehicles can be automated to avoid peak times, coincide with the lowest price and reduce climate impact. Together with the cable discount scheme, it also helps to reduce the need for expensive fossil fuel backup generators.
